INSTITUTE OF REFRIGERATION
Scottish Branch

Scottish Branch

We were formed in July 1975 as a branch of the Institute of Refrigeration. Every winter since then, we arrange, in the Scottish area, a programme of technical meetings and visits for those involved in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. We welcome all to our meetings including non members.

In 1979 we arranged the first of our annual Scottish Dinners, and these have been increasingly popular with the industry attracting participants from the whole of the UK as well as abroad. The dinner is self funding and any surplus monies received is used towards training within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. It is normally held on the evening of the first Monday in November each year.

We have always been active in encouraging training within the industry and have been sending apprentices and trainees, annually since 1980, to Grimsby College for a weeks course on basic refrigeration practice.
